A place for Chicago's thriving civic tech community of smart and thoughtful, people to share their thoughts and blogs.
Chicago has an energetic, thriving, creative, and thoughtful civic tech community. We have compassionate and thoughtful people with skills and ideas around technology and social impact. These are members of the community who have visions on how their skills, and technology in general, can be applied to help realize some of Chicago's most ambitious social goals, and solve for some of its most intractable challenges. We have talented people in the private sector, the public sector, civic sector, and the social impact sector who recognize that with the right technology and data, obstacles to equity can be removed, ideals of a highly functioning democracy can be realized, and a city that works can work for everyone.
This site was created to share those ideas. A blog site just for Chicago, just for technology and social impact. And anyone can write. Not a technologist, but have an idea for how technology can make this a better city? Submit it! Have skills in programming, data, user experience, design, and are working on a community project? Write about it! Saw something interesting, heard a great speaker, went to a great conference (some day)? Let's here it! And if you have ideas on the direction that this site should take, or ideas on how to make it as inclusive as possible, let us know!
